Contest Terms

• The contest will run from January 9, 2025, to June 30, 2025. Any stories submitted after the contest end date are NOT eligible to win.
• Entering the contest is free; all you need to do is publish your book on Inkitt and submit it on the contest page or from the contest tab in your work settings.
• Stories must be in English to enter this contest.
• Stories do not need to be brand new to Inkitt; we will be accepting past stories for this contest.
• Your story must be complete and have at least 20,000 words on or before the contest end date.
• Stories can be ongoing during the length of the contest, but must be marked complete on or before the contest end date to be eligible to win.
• There is no maximum word count limit.
• No plagiarism will be tolerated in contest entries.
• Fanfiction is not eligible to enter this contest.
• Stories behind a paid tier under the Subscription program ARE eligible to enter this contest.
• Stories must focus on hockey as a central theme and include a romantic element to qualify for this contest. We understand that not everyone has an in-depth knowledge of Hockey as a game, however it does need to be apparent that the story pertains to Hockey (no throwaway lines about a character being a hockey player that never come up again, for example).
• Please ensure that your story title is suitable for all audiences. Story content can be age-restricted as long as the age rating is marked appropriately in the story settings.
• Authors cannot enter a contest more than once with the same story, but an author may submit as many books as they want. If authors submit multiple entries, only one of them can win.
• Entries signed to or part of a series signed to or published on Galatea are not eligible to win.
• Winners will be chosen based on the popularity and binge-ability of their stories, considering various reader behaviors including but not limited to likes, comments, reviews, total reads, and shares.
• The winners will be announced within the following 4 weeks on Inkitt's social media channels and on the Inkitt Winners page.
• To be displayed on the contest shelf (to launch later in the contest), your story must be at least 1k free-to-read words and be approved by our content guidelines team.
• All federal, state and/or local taxes, fees, and surcharges are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
• Inkitt reserves the right to update these terms as needed while the contest is ongoing. No changes shall be made at the contest end. Any updates will be posted on this page.
